Ageas Bowl Public Art

AGEAS BOWL Sculpture

Project name: Ageas Bowl Sculpture
Location: Eastleigh
Lighting Designer: Commercial Lighting

Project Summary

We were delighted to be awarded the contract to design a high quality lighting scheme for the impressive Ageas Bowl Public Art sculpture at the Hampshire “home of cricket”, and were equally delighted that the end result found favour with the client. Buried LED uplighters from our Ares range were selected as the best solution, offering both the impact the client was after, together with very low running costs.

The sculpture features six life-sized stainless steel figures, and captures the bowling action in slow motion with the release of the ball aimed towards sculptor Richard Farrington’s Howzat cricket stumps, another piece of artwork with lighting designed by Commercial Lighting.

The “Night Bowlers” sculpture was designed by Joanne Calcutt from Eastleigh Borough Council.
