Eco-Conscious Business
Our journey towards Net Zero.
For over two decades, Commercial Lighting has continually invested in technologies that help us minimise our environmental impact.
From material sourcing to end of life disposal, we ensure every stage of our operations is considered for its impact on the environment.
Electric Vehicle Fleet
With the addition of our latest EV van, we are proud to say our company fleet is 100% electric. Recharged via our solar panels, this makes our local delivery and collection not only zero emmission, but virtually off-grid.
Solar Panels
Our solar PV system reduces our reliance on the National Grid, helping power our manufacturing facilities, as well as helps charging our electric vehicles.
Solar Thermal System
Our hot water is provided by our solar thermal system, further reducing our reliance on the grid.
Environmentally Preferable Purchasing
Our EPP Policy ensures responsible sourcing of components and services for our products. This includes prioritising local suppliers to miminise transportation, trusted brands for ease of component traceability, and materials from sustainable sources where possible.
Minimal Waste Policy
We are committed to minimal waste from our own operations. Obsolete stock is repurposed into new products. We have heavily reduced our hardcopy marketing material. Print material is shredded for use as packaging. Much of the rest is recyclable.
Plastic Free Packaging
We have long used recycled paper and card as packaging, but recently we were excited to finally  polythene wrapping with a suitable compostable alternative, appropriately sealed with our paper-based packaging tape.
Local over Global
We are proud to be part of the Made in Britain campaign, with our signature range Sovereign being designed and manufactured in our Southampton headquarters.
The WEEE Directive
As long time members of the UK’s leading independent WEEE Compliance Scheme Lumicom, we guarantee the environmentally sound disposal of end of life products.
Supporting the Environment
We are proud supporters of local environmental charities and trusts, including HIWWT and Fareham in Bloom, protecting and improving local habitats and its wildlife.
