Project name: St Andrews Church
Location: London
Lighting Designer: Commercial Lighting
Project Brief
We were approached by St Andrew’s Church, Brockley, to relight the main church area with a sustainable scheme. The old lighting scheme had become unserviceable and the original positions of the fixtures meant site maintenance had become a real challenge.
Project Solution
Our solution included replacing all of the original lighting halogen fittings with Sovereign LED Projectors, using a variation of SLM and Minimal projectors on Sovereign Lighting track. Not only did this drastically improve overall illumination, it also gave the church greater flexibility for maintenance and future upgradeability.
We also incorporated a fully dimmable control system to allow for the complementary lighting systems the church also implemented. Other areas of the church such as the main entrance, WCs and communal areas were also updated using our Sovereign Mini Fixed Downlighters and Pizza Surface.
The church were so pleased with finished scheme that they have now asked to look at the main external lighting and spire. As a guide, the old lighting was around 15Kw while the new lighting is around 1.9Kw, providing a massive energy saving with a future-proof lighting scheme.
